Help women gain creative confidence and entrepreneurial skills by giving female entrepreneurs access to tools, technologies, and mentors.

We're gearing up for the future!

41% of North Idaho households are living one emergency away from poverty.

ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) represents a population here at home who are working hard, but due to child care costs, transportation challenges, high cost of living, and so much more are living paycheck to paycheck (United Way of North Idaho).

Financial instability impacts our entire community

Our neighbors living under ALICE numbers are earning wages above the poverty level, but are still forced to make tough financial decisions like choosing between groceries and medications. This financial instability impacts our entire community.

Gizmo wants to help!

Female entrepreneurship is on the rise, accounting for 42% of all American business. However women face unique challenges when it comes to starting their own business.

  • Women's market knowledge is routinely disregarded, including market opportunities identified
  • Women experience limited access to knowledgeable mentors and capital expansion
  • Women face barriers when trying to access new markets or overall expansion (Score, 2020)

At Gizmo, we see a link and are uniquely situated to simultaneously address the growing ALICE population and support female entrepreneurs.

Introducing the Micro Entrepreneurial Center

In 2021 Gizmo will launch a new initiative we call the ME Center (Micro Entrepreneurial Center). Through this program Gizmo will harness the expertise of others who have found entrepreneurial success in development, financing, and marketing.

The first cohort at the ME Center will be women living under ALICE numbers, working to stabilize their families. They will have specialized access to mentors, tools, and training to support their entrepreneurial endeavors.

The ME Center will provide financial support as well, including child care stipends and capital microloans.

In order to launch the ME Center, Gizmo needs to secure $20,000.

Our community can't wait any longer, we need you!

The Micro Entrepreneurial Center is needed right now! We are asking for your help to ensure the ME Center can begin as early as January 2021.
